Description

Roukounas beach is probably the most popular beach in Anafi. It is located in the southern part of the island and at a distance of about 4 kilometers from the town of Anafi.

It was for years a favorite destination of nature lovers, due to the tranquility and isolation it offered, but also of free campers and nudists.

Nowadays, however, both camping and nudism are prohibited.

Roukounas is a long beach with a length that reaches almost 500 meters.

On the coast but also at the bottom of its crystal clear blue waters you will find sand while the waters gradually deepen.

The beach is not organized so you won't find umbrellas and sunbeds for rent but there are showers and toilets as well as tamarisk trees to offer their shade. It would therefore be good to visit the beach with the appropriate equipment.

Finally, in the area there is a cafeteria and a tavern where you can get water, coffee and have lunch.

The beach is easily accessible via the regional road network that connects Chora with the Monastery of Zoodochos Pigi.
