Description

A characteristic element of Nestos is its meanders.

In the Narrows the river meanders like a snake offering a unique sight that will be best enjoyed if you go up high, to the Observatory, about 10 km outside of Toxotes.

The observatory is "hidden" behind an antenna, at an altitude of 891 meters.

Here the Cultural Development Center of Thrace has built a specially curated structure from where you will not only enjoy the view of Nestos, but you can also learn what the surrounding areas are depending on where you look (such as, for example, Mount Pangaeo, Falakro , the Delta of Nestos, etc.).
